Brisbane River Levels: City Gauge, Moggill and Jindalee

Brisbane River and creek gauge heights, measurement times, datum notes, recent changes and 72-hour charts, with selected Queensland river stations.

Latest observations

BCC data measured at (16 min ago). Fetched at (0 min ago).

Latest valid stream observations, with each reading's own time. An older than usual reading is over 1.5 times the typical reporting gap. Stale or unavailable readings have figures hidden. Missing readings do not mean zero or an absence of flooding.

Reading Brisbane River gauge heights

BCC metadata labels these streams as Stream Height AHD, in metres relative to Australian Height Datum. A height is not a depth of water on a road or property. Changes compare the latest valid reading with the nearest valid reading on either side of the target 1, 3 or 24 hours earlier. The tolerance is the larger of one typical reporting gap and 30 minutes, capped at half the comparison period. Equal distances use the earlier reading. Both actual AEST timestamps are shown below each change. No interpolation is used; unavailable endpoints show no comparison reading.

The City Gauge, Port Office, St Lucia and Hawthorne sit along the Brisbane River, while Moggill and Jindalee provide upstream readings. Oxley and Breakfast Creek mouths are shown separately. Tidal rise and fall is normal at City Gauge and Port Office; this page does not flag flood levels. Each chart labels its own minimum and maximum. Lines join valid points only within the normal cadence, limited to the smaller of the p95 gap and twice the median gap; longer gaps stay blank. A rising or falling trace is an observation, not an official flood category.
