Atmosphr

Data sources, licences and limitations

Atmosphr is an independent weather site. Model forecasts, measured observations, historical imagery and reported road impacts are different products.

Editorial source review: 22 October 2026, AEST. This is a source register, not a live data reading. Measurement and fetch times and relative ages belong beside the data on each tool; they are not inferred from this review date.

Forecasts and imagery already used by the site

Open-Meteo model forecasts

Weather data by Open-Meteo, CC BY 4.0. Model forecast, processed by Atmosphr. A forecast is not a station observation or an official warning. The data licence is separate from API access: free API terms restrict use to non-commercial purposes. Open-Meteo and RainViewer commercial terms are still being resolved by the owner. A subscription or another compliant access arrangement must be confirmed for commercial forecast use.

RainViewer historical radar

Radar data by RainViewer. The public API terms cover personal and educational use; commercial permission has not been confirmed here. Recent radar frames show history, not a nowcast or a forecast of shower arrival. Coverage gaps and blank frames do not establish dry conditions. Reflectivity colours are not measured gauge totals.

NASA EOSDIS GIBS

Imagery: NASA EOSDIS GIBS, MODIS Terra corrected-reflectance true colour. Retain layer-specific credits and acquisition dates. NASA's open sharing policy is not a blanket licence for third-party layers. Daily satellite imagery gives context, not live rainfall or flood-depth measurements.

Council and Queensland data for local tools

Brisbane City Council telemetry

Source: © Brisbane City Council 2023, CC BY 4.0. Aggregation and presentation by Atmosphr. Rainfall and stream-height readings must be joined to sensor metadata. Raw telemetry can be missing, delayed or unvalidated. Missing is not zero. Rainfall interval or counter semantics and completeness must be established before publishing totals. Gauge datum must accompany river heights.

Brisbane flood-awareness reference layers

Source: © Brisbane City Council 2021, CC BY 4.0. The creek flood-awareness layer is reference mapping, not current inundation or a property safety assessment. Any displayed processing and source revision must be identified.

Queensland water monitoring and hydrology archive

Source: State of Queensland, Queensland Water Monitoring Information Portal (WMIP), with the issuing department retained from each product. The WMIP copyright notice grants CC BY 4.0 subject to exceptions and third-party rights. The hydrology archive is separately catalogued under CC BY 4.0. Selected live gauge integration still needs station, quality and datum validation; an archive is not current telemetry. Heights cannot be converted into road depth or warning categories without an authoritative basis.

QLDTraffic road events

Source: State of Queensland (Department of Transport and Main Roads), QLDTraffic, CC BY 4.0. Filtered by Atmosphr. The event dataset supports the SEQ road table; original provider rights and event links are retained. Full closures are distinguished from restrictions. A missing event is not proof a road is open. Fetch and publication age determine staleness; an event's older update can describe ongoing flood damage. A dedicated registered API key is needed at scale.

Queensland Fire Department

Source: State of Queensland (Queensland Fire Department), current bushfire incidents dataset, CC BY 4.0. Fire incident data is a separate product and does not establish permission to republish weather or flood warnings.

Official destinations and restricted products

BOM is link-only under this project's rules. Atmosphr does not claim permission to republish BOM warning text, maps or radar imagery. BOM copyright conditions and any product-specific permission govern reuse; attribution alone does not grant it. The Atmosphr radar player is not an official BOM product.

Seqwater dam levels are an official destination. Seqwater terms require written consent for commercial reuse; no authorised commercial feed is claimed here. Storage percentage is not a downstream flood-risk measure.

Queensland Disaster warnings are linked, with no assumption that mixed alert payloads inherit a bushfire feed's licence. Queensland Globe layer conditions vary by data owner; there is no blanket licence for screenshots or imagery.

Freshness and official services

Tools show source timestamps and fetch times separately where supplied. Stale or unavailable data is labelled and figures are suppressed where the tool's freshness limit is exceeded. A stopped publishing job can leave old HTML in caches, so always check the visible dates and official services. No absence of data is an all-clear message.
